Had my second OB appointment today and everything went great! I have lost 5 pounds since my last visit and they seemed a little concerned. I assured the doctor that I wasn't dieting - which I'm not! I just think baby is kicking my metabolism into overdrive. All of my bloodwork from my previous appointment came back perfect and my blood pressure has been great as well.
During my first OB appointment they tried to find the baby's heartbeat with the doppler and weren't able to find it. That scared me to death so they sent me for a sonogram where everything was just fine. Today she was able to easily pick up that beautiful heartbeat on the doppler. I was so relieved when I heard that sound! The doctor asked me if I wanted to hear her guess as to the sex of the baby. I said "of course!" and she said "I think it's a boy!". She said that she could tell because the heart rate was slower, not fast like a girl. She said she's right about 90% of the time.
My next appointment is on February 23rd and after that one they will schedule the sonogram to determine the sex - hopefully that same week.
Tim and I are going to go start our registry at Babies R Us on Friday. We got an awesome list of "best products" from our Newborn Care Specialist that we are going to take with us.

Pregnancy Update
Tomorrow I will be 14 weeks. Things have been going along well so far. I've had the usual morning sickness and it has proved to be quite unpredictable. I thought I had it figure out for a while - it seemed to always hit me about 3 in the afternoon. The other day blew that theory out of the water though because it lasted from about 7am until about 1pm. So I never really know when it's going to hit. Hoping this part is almost over. The first few months of the year are always the busiest for me at work and this year is no different. Being slowed down by nausea just doesn't work for me!
Mom and I made a trip a few weeks ago to look at furniture and the other big items we will need for baby. I finally found the nursery furniture set I loved on the JC Penny's website. It's a really beautiful collection. We ordered it in the Espresso color. I loved the carved details on each piece.
Mom and I also found some great maternity clothes for me that I'm hoping will get me through the entire pregnancy. I know that my favorite is going to be this super comfy jogging suit. Already wishing I had several more colors!
Tim and I have been re-organizing the house like crazy to make room for all of the baby stuff. Seems like every time I came home last week Tim had completed another big project. Things are starting to shape up as we figure out where to move things around.
My next doctor's appointment is Tuesday the 26th. It should be just the normal measurements, etc. It will be another month before we find out the sex of the baby. I can hardly wait! You know me - I'm all about making decisions and checking things off my list. When we know if baby is a boy or girl I will be able to decide on many more things.
